EtsyHunt vs SellerMarketingTool: Where They Overlap and Differ

EtsyHunt and SellerMarketingTool overlap more than most tools in this space. EtsyHunt is built around a large Etsy product database with keyword tools, and it also ships AI generators for titles, descriptions, tags and video. SellerMarketingTool generates tags, titles, descriptions and listing videos too, and adds listing checks, shop analysis and Pinterest and Facebook posting.

An earlier version of this post said EtsyHunt had no content creation tools. That was wrong, and it has been taken out. Two tools that both generate listing copy are not told apart by a feature list.

Where the two actually differ

The difference is emphasis. EtsyHunt puts the database first: a large index of products you can search and compare against. SellerMarketingTool puts the editing first: rewriting listings you already have, and applying that work across a whole shop in one pass rather than one listing at a time.

If product data is what you lean on, that is exactly what EtsyHunt is built around, and it is a fair reason to choose it. If your listings already exist but are not being found, the bottleneck is usually the rewriting, and that is the part this tool takes off your hands.

What we will not do here

This post does not score EtsyHunt feature by feature or quote its prices. Both change, and a comparison written by one of the two companies is not a neutral source. Check ehunt.ai for what it includes and costs today, then run the five-listing test below on your own shop.

Looking for a EtsyHunt alternative?

If you arrived here comparing tools rather than reading a review, the short version is this. EtsyHunt and SellerMarketingTool overlap more than either marketing page will admit: both generate tags, titles and descriptions, and both look at listings and whole shops. Anyone telling you one of them does something the other simply cannot is selling you something. The differences that show up in daily use are narrower - how much of the work applies in bulk across a whole shop rather than one listing at a time, and how much runs before you pay anything.

That second job is what SellerMarketingTool is built around. The tag generator fills all 13 Etsy tag slots inside the 20-character limit, the title generator rewrites titles inside Etsy’s 140-character limit, and the description generator drafts the description that answers what buyers ask before ordering. The listing checker then scores the result and names what is still missing.

How to compare them properly

Do not compare feature lists - they are written by marketing teams and they all sound the same. Take five listings you already know are underperforming and run both tools over them. Then count how much work is left after each one: how much rewriting, how much checking against Etsy’s limits, how much copying and pasting back into Etsy. That remaining effort, multiplied by your catalogue size, is the real difference.

All four tools above run without an account, so you can do that comparison today and without switching anything. If you want the wider picture first, the guide to Etsy SEO tools sets out what each category of tool actually does before you commit to any of them.

There is a fuller side-by-side on the EtsyHunt alternative page, including how to run both tools over the same listings before deciding.
